“It’s not easy being a mother. If it were easy, fathers would do it.” – The Golden Girls
Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate the moms in your life. Whether it is your mom, wife, sister grandmother, or cousin. Moms are cooks, chauffeurs, cheerleaders, coaches, tutors, and sometimes referees. We can take a business call while cooking dinner AND helping our littles with common core math. We literally make the world go round and look good doing so! As a mom to four littles ( ages 11, 10, 3 and 2 ) I know the struggles we face on a daily basis. From lost sippy cups to a WWE match taking place on our couches and yet we handle it with a smile on our face and wine in our water bottles ( it’s a joke ya’ll ). I wanted to make a gift guide of some of my favorite products that I use to pamper myself. Today is all about pampering the Supermom in your life…
Breakfast In Bed
Nothing says pampering like having your husband and littles bring you your favorite breakfast foods while you lounge in bed. My idea of a yummy ( and easy ) breakfast is pancakes, more precisely Nutella stuffed pancakes.
These beauties take all of 30 minutes to make and are so super simple. Nobody loves Nutella more than me, so these are definitely what i am asking for. If you would like the recipe simply click on the image to be redirected to Delish. Add a tasty beverage, Mimosas anyone?
- fresh peach slices
- peach nectar
- Sparkling rosé wine, prosecco, or Champagne
- grenadine syrup
Put some fresh peach slices into wineglasses and add some chilled peach nectar to cover. Top with well-chilled sparkling rosé wine, prosecco, or Champagne. Add a drop of grenadine syrup to each drink.
Recipe is from Delish.com.
While mom sips her way into bliss set phase two into motion. A nice relaxing spa day soak. The products listed below are sure to make mom feel pampered and relaxed.
Spa Day Soak with Products by: Luxe By Mr. Bubble
Absolutely nothing compares to having a nice quiet bubble bath. Add some of my most favorite products and this will be complete bliss. I discovered these bath bombs on Facebook. A blogger friend of mine was sent some to review and when I saw the pictures I just fell in love. They are from Mr Bubble’s new Luxe Line and let me tell you they smell amazing. I chose the Ladies Night In which is the original scent. It included Bubbletini Bath Bombs, All Buttered Up Body Butter and Shine On Lip Balm. The bath bombs are individually wrapped in plastic and can be a pain in the butt to open if your hands are wet so have scissors handy. I used two of the bombs and they turned my bathwater this pretty pale pink color. It also smelled so good, they have a very light fragrance.
I am incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with the founder of Adele’s Purest. She is an amazingly nice person and really went above and beyond in helping me with the next products you will see. Mud masks, have ya’ll seen these videos floating around social media? you know, of various brave souls ripping the entire first layer of skin off of their faces in the name of beauty. I have found something much better, and less painful. Adele’s Purest 10 Minute Clear Skin Neroli Clay Mask. It does the exact same thing as those other masks without the pain and unrecognizable ingredients. All of Adele’s products are all natural, non-GMO, and not tested on animals. The clay mask goes on very easily and is meant to stay on for 10 minutes, once a week. The ingredients are distilled water, Bentonite clay, avocado oil, optiphen , and Neroli essential oil ( oil produced from the blossom of the bitter orange tree ). As the mask dries you will feel some tightening of your skin. When the 10 minutes are up simply wipe the mask off and voila, super smooth skin. My face felt tingly and smooth, it was awesome. Has a pleasant scent and is suitable for all skin types. After my mask I decided my lips needed some TLC also, luckily Adele has a sugar scrub. Rose Lip Scrub is made with sugar, olive oil, mango butter, cocoa butter and rose extract. Apply to your lips and gently scrub away the dead skin. Ya’ll, I actually tasted it… it tastes like sugar and roses! o.m.g! I finished off my soak with Adele’s Rose Lip Balm.
After a nice long soak let mom relax on the couch while you ( and the littles ) prepare dinner. One of my favorite ways to relax is with a good book and a nice cup of tea.
Dear Joey By: Alicia Eggers
A fellow blogger and North Carolinian wrote a simple blog post that went viral. She wrote from her heart and if you have not read the post yet it is beautiful, and has a message we can all relate to.
“Mother’s everywhere struggle to fully embrace motherhood. After-all, life these days is so incredibly demanding, it’s hard to slow down and really breathe in the goodness of mothering.
“Dear Joey” is inspired by the life of Country singer Joey Feek. Joey showed us all, in her final days, just how beautifully motherhood could be embraced, even when motherhood comes to an end. Her life and death can encourage every mother to fully embrace every single breath and to live fully in each moment”.
We have all seen the beautiful and heartbreaking images of Joey and her young daughter Indiana as they snuggle in Joey’s hospital bed. I am not a big fan of Country music but Joey’s story and message is universal, and I, as a busy mother, need to grab each and every moment with my kids and never let them go. This book is about “Embracing everyday of motherhood as if it were your last”. Alicia writes from her heart and shows how her faith is fundamental in her journey into motherhood. I took a lot away from this book and several times found myself just having a zen moment of complete and utter understanding. This book and its message transcends religious beliefs and music preferences. It is a message that we as mothers need to hear. Stop, breathe and enjoy your journey. Our kids grow up so fast, I have one that is turning four this year and the oldest will be 12, sometimes I just get so busy with reviews and blogging that when I look up it seems as if they have grown another inch.

Twinings English Breakfast Tea
When I curl up on my couch with a good book it is imperative that I have a cup of tea, this tea to be exact. I have been a huge fan of this brand for years and it is really the only tea hot tea that I drink. I have a fondness for all things English and have always said if given the opportunity that I would move to London in a heartbeat. This tea is so deep and flavorful but surprisingly mellow. I love to pair it with a french vanilla creamer, it’s pure indulgence. simply brew one teabag in your favorite mug for four minutes add cream, sugar or lemon and enjoy.
Now that dinner has been served and the dishes have been washed it is time for Supermom to wind down and relax until bedtime. What better way to relax than with a nice glass of wine and some online shopping? In my opinion that’s how everyday should end….
Bella Bolle Pink Moscato
My go to adult beverage, lightly sweet and full of bubbles. It is so refreshing and the perfect base for warm weather adult themed punches and sangria’s. Made in Italy and readily available at most grocers. I love to pour myself a glass and just chill and unwind at the end of a very stressful day and with four kids that is pretty much every day, lol. It is inexpensive, around $8.00 but the taste is out of this world. Fruity and mellow you would not think that this was not a expensive bottle of wine.
Etsy Gift Card
I love gift cards, who doesn’t you can take your time and pick out just the right gift. I am also a sucker for unique and unusual things and you are sure to find something unique and handmade on etsy. Two of my favorite shoppes are Charlie’s Mercantile and Beads To Bliss. At Charlie’s Mercantile you can find dog themed prints that are cute and unique.
About Charlie’s Mercantile
Charlie’s Mercantile wants to inspire you to add some color to your home decor. Each print is inspired by the love of colors and simple shapes and designed in Durham, North Carolina.
Charlie’s Mercantile story is a positive one. In 2013, I moved across the country, lost my brother to cancer, and got a new puppy within a 2 week period. My new puppy, Fonda, really saved me in my new life. She reminded me to live outdoors and take time to play. Soon I became a dog sitter and I began to process my grief creativity and started enjoying the brighter side of life again. Dogs are truly a wonderful gift.
My journey on Etsy started with a shop called ‘Siblings Matter’ in 2013 and has evolved into Charlie’s Mercantile. My other dog, Charlie, was Mrs. Charlie at the rescue. Charlie is also my brother’s middle name. Seems like you don’t have to look too far to find a Charlie somewhere:)
Charlie’s Mercantile offers personalized gifts for your home, dog prints, and house warming gifts. We all deserve a personalized gift in our home. Let me know what I can create for you.
Every Charlie’s Mercantile order is packaged with lots of love and attention to detail. I strive to use recycled products as much as possible. Your prints are shipped with extra protection so you can enjoy your print immediately!
