I was honestly skeptical about at first. My daughter I knew would fall instantly in love with Ladybug. My sons are fans of other superheroes and I did not think that they would be thrilled about a hero dressed as a cat. Ok, so I was wrong, really wrong…lol. My three year old Bronx sat in rapt attention through all seven episodes…. he is now running around pretending to be Cat Noir.
About The Show
Two ordinary teenagers are chosen by Master Fu ( Paul St. Peter ) to become the keepers of Paris. Marinette and Adrien turn into their secret superheroes with the help of their Kwami ( little sprite like creature with magical powers). With Tikis help Marinette turns into Ladybug. With Plaggs help Adrien turns into Cat Noir.
Hawk Moth ( Keith Silverstein ) is intent on getting Ladybug and Cat Noir’s Miraculouses for himself and sets out to turn ordinary citizens of Paris into his evil minions. From stone hearts to guitar wielding baddies who ride on an alligator turned dragon Ladybug and Cat Noir have their work cut out for them. On top of being superheroes they are also High school students and Adrien is a fashion model ( his father is a fashion designer ).
Movies today often portray superheroes as brawn over brain. I love the fact that these two heroes have equal parts brains and brawn. In the first two episodes Marinette is unsure of herself and thinks that Adrien would be better off with someone else by his side. This message of self doubt hit home with my daughter as I am sure it will for other young girls who struggle to find their True selves. With a minimal amount of animated violence it is also a good show for the littlest of the littles. This has definitely became a hit in our home and I am 100% certain that it will in yours also. You can catch new episodes on Nick.com and Netflix. I hope that you found this post informative as well as entertaining ans as always thanks for stopping by!
I received this DVD free for review purposes and all opinions are my own.
