PICTURE PERFECT: You First
Finley and GIGI (Eff and Gee) are BFFs and have been since before they were even born. Their mom’s met in a pregnancy group and became best friends, so it was destiny. They do EVERYTHING together (as most BFFs do) including taking a cooking class and planning their Birthday parties (which fall on the same day). Lately though it seems as if Finley is drifting away from GIGI. She is more excited about soccer than she is about planning the perfect Birthday bash, how could that be? GIGI finds herself questioning their friendship and feeling as if she is losing her best friend. Lack of communication and rising tensions threaten to tear the two BFFs apart.
My 12-year-old Noemi loved this book. So much so, that she had to share it with her own BFF. It was awesome to have this book explain to her that even if she and her friend have different interests that they can still be best friends. It would be no fun if they liked all the same things. She is now begging me to enroll her into cooking classes, lol. I am definitely going to be purchasing the second book in the series for her.
The Secret of Spider Motel
I hate spiders, just for future references. My boys though, love all these creepy and crawly. I loved that the book came with a sticky wall grabber spider. Ah, family vacations…. mom and dad navigating while the littles are in back, fighting.
Buzz and his little brother Rocky are in the middle of nowhere with their mom and dad. It is supposed to be a family vacation but it is hot and Buzz would rather be at home eating ice cream and reading science-fiction (my kind of vacation). Instead they are cooped up in the family car which is on its last legs. When a miracle happens, they spot a building! Next stop the SPIDER ROADSIDE ATTRACTION AND MOTOR HOTEL. Lucky them, there is a vacancy, who would’ve thought. When a giant spider appears out of nowhere (just a man dressed in a rubber spider costume) they think that their luck has changed, or has it? With an action packed chase scene through various alien worlds and a standoff with a rhinoceros with tentacles this book is filled with action and surprises that is sure to keep your littles glued to every page. This is another one where I am going to buy the other books in the series. Added bonus, it comes with a creep, sticky spider wall walker.
Teen Titans GO! Robin Rules
I will admit, I love the Teen Titans (Beast Boy is my fave). So I was super stoked when I saw this book. I literally had to rock, paper, scissors my oldest son (Jay) to see who got to read it first. Robin is the “self-proclaimed” leader of the Teen Titans and has the need to be in charge. It seems as if he is always playing sidekick to Batman. He is sort of high strung so he is the perfect target for the other Teen Titan’s pranks. When Robin’s so called emergencies turn out to be nothing more than him needing rides to various places the other Titans grow tired of constantly playing the part of his personal chauffeur and want to know what’s up. Turns out his license was suspended (he wrecked the batmobile). He knows a guy that can fix the problem though, maybe… What follows is a bank robbery followed by a police chase and ending with a surprise twist….
The members of the H.I.V.E Five just robbed a bank and it is up to the Teen Titans to stop them. Robin chooses to take down Mammoth, the biggest and strongest villain of the bunch. While the other Titans defeat their chosen baddies Robin is having a hard time with Mammoth. Back at Titan’s Tower Robin is exhausted but the other Titans seem unfazed by their recent battle. Robin devices a plan to get his own superpowers why not combine his DNA with a Robins DNA. What could go wrong? Besides turning yourself into a giant mutant bird! He finally gets his superpowers (thanks to Raven) but what happens next is more than he bargained for….
I hope that you found this post to be informative as well as entertaining and as always thank you for stopping by.
