I did not think that I was going to like this movie, but I did. I am not a fan of country music and while I do like the occasional musical ( RHPS and Grease ) I thought one that combined country and pop would be to overwhelming. I will be the first to admit when I am wrong, and I was.
Charlie and Cody are brothers. Charlie ( Munro Chambers ) has taken over the family garage ( his dad left ) and Cody is a soldier who is shipping out to the Middle East for another TOD. Add in two “city girls” Nancy ( Madeline Merlo ) and her BFF Ainsley ( Sophie Tweed Simmons ). Nancy and Ainsley are on their way to a party when Nancy’s car bites the dust. Along comes Charlie and sparks fly. The only problem is Nancy has a boyfriend, Brad ( a music producer ).Well Brad is as shady as a big oak tree on a hot Summer’s day but Nancy thinks that she needs him in order to become a famous singer/songwriter. Meanwhile Charlie’s brother Cody ( Kevin McGarry ) has left for the Middle East leaving his wife Katherine ( Jana Kramer ) and son Cody Jr. ( Samuel Faraci ) hoping for his safe return once again. watch the official trailer below…
With rousing duets and a racy country/pop fusion ( sung by Sophie, Gene Simmon’s daughter ) I was dancing right along on the couch, couldn’t help myself. There are some laughs, mostly between Charlie and Nancy. You may recognize Munro Chambers from Degrassi: The Next Generation. You may also recognize Jana Kramer from last season’s Dancing With The Stars and from her chart topping album 31.
If you are a fan of Country music and musicals I totally recommend this movie. It would make an awesome “Girls Night” movie throw in some adult beverages and pizza and you’re golden.
Because of alcohol consumption, sexual innuendos and that racy number by Sophie Tweed Simmons I suggest this be watched when the littles are tucked into bed. All in all I honestly enjoyed this movie and I feel that you would to. It is available exclusively at Walmart.
I hope that you found this post to be informative as well as enjoyable and as always Thank You For Stopping By.
In was sent this DVD for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
